School Dinners

Here at Broadacre, there has never been a better time to send your child for a school lunch. Strict nutritional standards ensure that your child has a meal that contains the correct balance of nutrients they need to help with their development and also taste great!

The school lunch menu changes every few months. Details of the menu have been sent out with every child but they can also be found on the Hull City Council website. Click here to view.

Dinners are great value at £1 a day. This can be paid weekly or daily, and should be sent with your child on the first day of when they would like a dinner. If you would like any further information then please contact the admin office in school.

From September 2014 all children who are in reception, year 1 or year 2 in a state-funded school will be offered a free healthy school lunch.

Children in other school years will also be offered a free school lunch depending on the income their parents receive providing they have completed a Free School Meal application form.

Free school meals dependent on income, are available for parents or carers in receipt of:

  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based)
  • Child Tax Credit with an annual income which does not exceed £16,190 and NOT claiming Working Tax Credit
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Children who receive Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based) in their own right
  • Asylum Seekers receiving support provided under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

For those parents or carers who receive the qualifying benefits, a EWB1 application form must be completed, which are available from Customer Service Centres or from the Council’s website.

The form then needs sending to Welfare Benefits, Brunswick House, Strand Close, Beverley Road, Hull HU2 9DB. You do not need to send any documentary evidence of income with your form. The Council will make the necessary checks on your behalf.
